Luke's 2nd Year - Post 1

It's very overdue, but I am finally working on my son's 2nd year scrapbook. I feel bad because I did his first year pretty much right away but that was before the Cricut. I was really proud of it but comparing that to my daughter's first year book - no comparison. I feel like he kinda got shafted! lol SO, I am putting a lot of work into his 2nd year book. I'm determined to try and finish it this summer and I got a lot done the first couple weeks I started working on it. I stopped to do a birthday scrapbook for my mom but am getting back into it now and about halfway through. I am doing quick posts of the pages to share. There are lots, so I will do it in parts over a couple weeks and as I finish up!

All for Fall Contest

Here's my entry for the fall layout contest. I loved this photo of my son with his cousins at the pumpkin patch last year so I had to use it! I had a GREAT time doing this!!! Used embossing for the first time and that was nice and fun and messy too! I like messy!

Get Well Card

Made a get well card for my daughter's swim instructor. She has been in and out of the hospital and we miss her! That's why it's a mermaid and I put in the inside that her fishies missed her!

Infomercial Entry

This was my project for the infomercial contest, and here is the info I sent them:

I was so excited to participate in this contest and was inspired by my kids. I wanted to create a new piece of wall art for their room, so even before I had received my 3 Birds on Parade cartridge, I had a vision in my head for my little knight and my sweet princess.

Using a 12 x 12 canvas, I first painted it bright green, then I cut out an 11.5" base page from Storybook (Flourish3/the #4) and adhered that to the canvas.
I used 3 Birds on Parade to cut 5 1/2" birds for the knight bird (Knight) and the fairy bird (Fairy). I used both Storybook and Lyrical Letters (Jumbo) to cut the letters for the words and I cut them from 2 different colors and shadowed them. I had them drawn up in DS, but was uncertain if we could use that, so I went all manual, just in case! I used gems and pearls to add embellishments to the crown, sword, and tutu.

I am very excited for how it turned out. I absolutely love using my Cricut and it is my way to relax and create! I painter and a photographer, so I like combining all my skills to create unique pieces of art. It is a constant learning process and I'm always finding new things to try!

Thursday Circles

I am going to try and participate in as many daily challenges as I can! It really helps get me motivated and seeing others' creations helps inspire me! Today's challenge was to use circles in your design. I started with the dandelion off of Storybook and went from there!
